Privacy and consent

In short
- Roopa Health helps you follow the plan your doctor at IDEA Clinics gave you. To do that, we collect what you tell us in your daily check-in and on WhatsApp, and what your clinic records.
- Your doctors, your nutritionist and the clinic’s care coordinator can see your answers and your numbers. Nobody else can.
- Roopa never gives medical advice on its own. Medical answers come from your doctor and carry their name.
- You can stop at any time by sending “STOP” on WhatsApp. We will delete your Roopa data within 30 days; your clinic keeps its own medical record as it always has.
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
What we collect
Your name and phone number; your goals, language and the household details you share at onboarding; your daily check-in answers (mood, sleep, food, movement, your medicine if your doctor prescribed one, and anything bothering you); your period dates, and the flow and pain you log while it lasts; your weight and other measurements if your plan includes them; your questions and the answers; and the results and plan details your clinic adds to your record (diagnosis, medicines, test results).
Why we collect it
To send you your plan and your daily message; to show you your doctor’s guidance when something is bothering you; to send your questions to the right person in your care team; to prepare summaries for your doctors before each visit; and, without your name, to measure whether the pilot works. We will ask you separately before using anything that identifies you in research or publication.
If you sign up but do not join
If you fill in the form on our website, we keep your name, phone number and answers so we can contact you about the pilot. If there is no place for you, or you decide not to go ahead, we keep those details for 6 months in case a place opens, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time: message “DELETE” on WhatsApp or write to hinduja@roopahealth.com. We do not share them with IDEA Clinics unless you go ahead and enrol.
Who can see it
Your care team. Your treating doctors at IDEA Clinics and your nutritionist see everything, to guide your care. Your Roopa team, the care coordinator who follows your plan with you each day during the pilot, sees your check-ins and plan, to help you each day and run the service. Nobody else. Every time someone in your care team opens your record, it is logged. Your daily message travels over WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta and subject to its own terms. Your check-in answers are sent over an encrypted connection to Roopa’s servers on Google Cloud (Firebase) in Mumbai, India.
How long we keep it
For the duration of the programme and 12 months after, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Your clinic keeps its medical record under its own retention rules.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act you can ask what we hold about you, correct it, withdraw consent, or ask for deletion. Message “PRIVACY” on WhatsApp or write to hinduja@roopahealth.com. If it isn’t resolved, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
